Overview

CONTEXT

Revora is a web platform for revising for a professional qualifying exam: a public site, a member area for practising exam-style questions with an explanation after every answer, study guides, a dashboard that shows progress from real answers, and subscriptions. I built it in a few days in August 2026, from the specification and architecture to a working practice loop — designed to feel calm, with clear next steps and no noisy gamification.

Technical notes

DEPTH

Next.js App Router, React and TypeScript in strict mode, Tailwind CSS with design tokens, PostgreSQL through Prisma, and Payload CMS for editorial content. Its own session auth with Argon2 hashing, Stripe for subscriptions, and a validating importer (Zod contracts and a CLI) for the question bank supplied as JSON. Practice sessions pick never-attempted questions first, then the ones answered wrong, and every answer is checked on the server. Accessibility is part of the design — read-aloud, a dyslexia-friendly font, keyboard-first answer cards — and checked with axe in Playwright, alongside Vitest unit and integration tests.
